About the role
As Account Director for Japan, you will be the primary contact for both new and existing customers in the Japanese market. You will lead much of the sales process, from identifying and engaging prospects with support from the business development team, to understanding their needs and introducing them to our solution.
You will also nurture relationships with current customers, focusing on growth and retention. This includes guiding them through renewals, ensuring they get value from our features, and helping them succeed with our platform.
We’re looking for someone who
- Can create sales opportunities in the Japanese market through research, strategy, and deep market understanding
- Uses a strategic mix of outreach methods (email, calls, customer visits, etc.) to drive engagement
- Maintains excellent relationships with existing customers, ensuring they gain maximum value from our solutions
- Collaborates effectively with cross-functional global teams including marketing, sales, business development, product, and customer success
- Actively tracks sales development performance and shares best practices to support ongoing growth
- Is motivated by stakeholder management and relationship building
- Has a strong interest or experience in sectors such as online ticketing, retail, financial services, and public sector
- Thrives in a global environment and is comfortable collaborating across time zones (DK, AU, KR, US)
- Communicates clearly and confidently in both oral and written formats
- Has a genuine curiosity for B2B technology sales and SaaS solutions
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience
- Proven success in market development and working with enterprise accounts
- Solid technical understanding of desktop and SaaS technologies
- Proficiency with tools such as email marketing platforms, CRM systems, and other business applications
- Japanese language skills required; English proficiency is an advantage

You will be one of the first locally based employees in Tokyo and work from a co-working space, alongside a small team of three colleagues. The exact location is still being finalised.
